Castleland Community Association
Castleland Community Association formed as a Charity in 1986, and have been caretakers of Castleland Community Centre since 2004. The venue is run collaboratively by paid & volunteer workers. Since the centre's refurbishment (financed by the Big lottery People & places Grant) in 2011 the centre has gone from strength to strength. One of the centre's longest running groups, Castleland Lunch Club (formerly Castaways) is an older people's group. The group is a great place to meet new people, play bingo and enjoy meals provided by Castleland CafeCamelot. In 2016 Scope became regular inhabitants of the centre using the IT equipment. FoodShare is a project in collaboration with Tesco and Greggs, volunteers come in every week to sort through and make presentable the food for people who need it. The centre has an average of 80 people per week who use this service and the number is growing. If you are a business that can contribute to the Castleland Community Centre please contact Helen Jones the Centre manager.
